Hotel Grotenend is situated in a characteristic 'Drentse boerderij' (farmer place), just outside the village of Gasselte. The hotel has a nice garden with 2 terraces.

There are 4 comfortable rooms and 2 large apartments. The hotel was renovated at the end of 2006 / beginning of 2007. Nearby is a large forest area with many walking and bicycle tracks. The hotel is within walking distance from 'De Semslanden' golf course and the village of Gasselte has a number of good restaurants.

Time to relax! You can use the sauna, steamroom, solarium to relax. Also outside the hotel we have to offer a lot: a terrace with roof, nice garden. For horse lovers, there is the possibility to leave their horse in one of the six horse boxes. From the hotel there are kilometer routes for the horse riders. These routes will bring you to the most beautiful places from "De Veluwe"Not only beautiful nature surrounds the "Dennenheuvel". You will find also several other places of interest like,the palace" Paleis Het Loo", the National Park, De Hoge Veluwe, de Apenheul, The Anton Pieck Museum and the Dolfinarium. Also the cosy cities like Elburg, Kampen and Hattem are close for a daytrip. Furthermore, for the people who cannot do without: Shopping in Epe, Apeldoorn of Zwolle is absolutely worthwhile ! Walking and cycling tours (bicycles to rent), as well as further tourist information is available on request at the reception.

Surrounding Area

From Hotel Grotenend you can enjoy the space and nature in the Staatsbossen or the scenery of Drenthe along the indicated routes which are described. Bicycles are for rent .

Also you can visit the Zoo in Emmen, the Top Tree Walk, the Museumvillage Orvelte or camp Westerbork. Hotel Grotenend is only 750m from the 18 holes golfcourse "de Semslanden". The village Gasselte has some very good restaurants, all at walking distance. The hotel is open all year.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged EUR 5.00 per night and person for cots.
All children from 3 to 10 years are charged EUR 16.75 per night and person for extra beds.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 33.50 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
