Best Western De Zwaan is situated in Raalte in the eastern part of the Netherlands.
The hotel history goes back to 1762 when a member of the Napoleon family stayed in our hotel.
The region of Raalte is well known for its beautiful landscape and peaceful surroundings.
The hotel atmosphere is nice and charming, our rooms are comfortable and modern.

The perfect starting point for spreading your wings. There are still hotel-restaurants with traditional hospitality, where hosts and hostesses are still involved and interested in visiting guests. You will feel at home in our hotel, run by the family Poppe.
For meetings, trainings or brainstorm-sessions De Zwaan offers a perfect accommodation: natural lit conference rooms, quiet surroundings and a pleasant atmosphere.

Surrounding Area

From the hotel you can take some wonderful cycling and walking routes. We have created some cycling routes especially for our guests, leading you along the most beautiful spots of the Salland area.

A beautiful hiking trail is also available at the reception of the Hotel de Zwaan. This route leads you from the railway station of Raalte to the one in Nijverdal (17 km).

Wander through agricultural areas, but also through the landscapes of Overijssel and various nature reserves. The route runs along:

- Boetelerveld: this is the last preserved heath of the Salland Ridge;
- De Sprengenberg residence: the house is owned by Natuurmonumenten (Society for preservation of nature monuments in the Netherlands);
- The Noetselerberg hill;
- Visitor centre of the Salland Ridge.

Transport

By Public Transport Public Transport Information Service 06 - 9292 (75 cts./min.) NS-railwaystation Raalte by slow train from Zwolle Central Station or Hengelo Central Station. Treintaxi (Train cab) from NS-railwaystation Raalte (Buy a special ticket at the ticket office). By foot from NS-railwaystation Raalte. Hotel Restaurant De Zwaan is at about 500 meters distance (see plan). Bus from NS-railwaystation Deventer Line 165 to Raalte. Get off at busstop Kruisstraat, from there Hotel Restaurant De Zwaan is at 1 minute walking distance. By car From Amersfoort (A1) and Arnhem (A50) via A1 in the direction of Deventer. Take exit 23 to Deventer. Keep on driving in the direction of Deventer and after 1,3 km turn right in the direction of Raalte (N348). Near Raalte take the first exit for Raalte (Westdorplaan). Turn left after 750 meter. (also Westdorplaan). Drive straight on; at the end of street turn right (Kerkstraat). After about 250 meters you will find Hotel Restaurant De Zwaan at your left hand (next to a big church). From Zwolle through the N35 in the direction of Raalte. Near Raalte you turn to the right (N48) and after 250 meters turn left in the direction of Raalte (Zwolsestraat). At the end of the road keep driving left (Kerkstraat). After about 250 meters you will find Hotel Restaurant De Zwaan at your left hand (next to a big church). From Hoogeveen/Ommen via the N346 in the direction of Raalte. Near Raalte turn left (N35) and after 500 meters turn right in the direction of Raalte (Almelosestraat). Before you reach the canal you turn right. After 200 meters turn left and pass the bridge (Botermakerstraat). Continue driving to the right (Schapenstraat). At the crossroads turn left (Varkensmarkt, changes into the Kerkstraat). Hotel Restaurant De Zwaan is at 200 meters at the right side of the road. After about 250 meters you will find Hotel Restaurant De Zwaan at your left hand (next to a big church). From Almelo via the N35 in the direction of Raalte. Near Raalte turn left in the direction of Raalte (Almelosestraat). Before you reach the canal you turn right. After 200 meters turn left and pass the bridge (Botermakerstraat). Continue driving to the right (Schapenstraat). At the crossroads turn left (Varkensmarkt, changes into the Kerkstraat). The modern restaurant provides excellent meals, and in the brasserie you can dine or have lunch with your guests, friends or your partner on a night out or just for a good meal.
Or visit de Gelagkamer-bar, a medieval arched room with a unique atmosphere and a huge fire place.

Cancellation Terms

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged EUR 7.00 per night and person for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 30.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
EUR 1.00 city/tourist tax per person per night is not included.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in public areas and is free of charge.

Meal Plan: Buffet breakfast costs EUR 10.00 per person.

Parking: Free public parking is possible on site.
